Wait 'til after Election Day ... is that the noise from New Jersey?

March 25th is legal weed vote day for the bill that was endorsed by the Assembly Appropriations and Senate Judiciary committees. Based on our SP+GTM algorithm tacking such events, it appears likely not to pass in its current form. Meanwhile, Governor Murphy wants it now and is taking no chances by affirmatively broadcasting executive action. From a political perceptive, his stance is against the grain. Nothing will happen until after Election Day, allowing legislators to cast their votes for or against legal weed without fear of losing reelection bids. As a side note: The bill was publicly endorsed by U.S. Reps. Donald Payne and Bonnie Watson Coleman. The two are the only black members of New Jersey's House delegation. And both live in state districts headed up by senators seen as hard "no" votes on legal weed: Sens Ronald Rice, D-Essex, and Shirley Turner, D-Mercer.
